Adding and editing plain text files

A simple text editor in Meridian Project Portal allows you to create and edit unformatted text files (for example, .htm and .txt files) directly in the browser window.

To create or edit a plain text file attached to a document:

  1. View the property page of the document to which you want to add a file as described in Viewing and editing document properties.
  2. On the ribbon, in the Files group, click Attach. The Attach menu appears.
  3. Click Add/Edit text file. An empty form page appears.
  4. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

Filename

Type a filename for a new file. To edit an existing file attached to the document, select its name from the list.

Text to insert

Type text to be saved in a new file or edit the text of the selected file.

  1. Click Save file. If you created a new text file, the property page of the document reappears showing the new file attached. If you edited an existing file, you are first prompted whether to replace the existing file.
